Members of the Roswell Finance Committee recommended on Thursday that a resolution to create a flood recovery task force be presented to the city council for approval.

The storm and flooding on Oct. 19-20, 2024, caused catastrophic damage in Roswell and across Chaves County. The state and federal governments declared the city and county as a disaster site, which opened the door to local people and entities obtaining assistance from organizations within the state to help repair some city damages more quickly will be derived from a gross receipts tax that went into effect on July 1.
