Two women have been arrested by officers from the Edinburgh Retail Crime Task Force who have been supporting operational officers and retail premises across the city.

On Tuesday 4 November 2025 a female was arrested on seven outstanding warrants related to shoplifting and acquisitive offences.

Two days later another female was arrested for theft and shoplifting, along with 17 outstanding warrants.

Further inquiries identified that this individual was responsible for an additional 26 shoplifting offences and four offences related to the protection of retail workers.
