ST GEORGE - Marching bands from Smithfield, St. George and dozens of locations in between competed in the Red Rocks State Marching Band Championships on the campus of Utah Tech University Friday, Nov. 7. Sky View, Green Canyon, Ridgeline and Mountain Crest marching bands were among the 44 bands which performed on Friday under a clear blue sky and in front of thousands of cheering fans.

Bands have been competing in contests throughout September and October, but the competition at Utah Tech is the definitive state championship for all classifications of bands in Utah. Classifications are determined based on the size of the marching band.
