CIRCLEVILLE, W.Va. — Firefighters continued efforts to contain the 350-acre Woodside Fire in Pendleton County, West Virginia, on Saturday following moderate overnight rainfall.
The wildfire, which was detected Wednesday near the community of Big Mountain, is 30% contained, with the cause currently under investigation.
The fire is being managed under unified command by the State of West Virginia and the U.S. Forest Service and continues to burn on steep, mountainous terrain. Ground crews and aircraft with water-dropping capabilities are actively containing the wildfire.
