NORTH RIDGEVILLE – The proposal to rain the income tax in North Ridgeville went out with little more than a whimper as voters resoundingly rejected the idea to increase income taxes. By a 67 percent no vote to only 33 percent yes, with only about 9,000 voters out of nearly 30,000 registered voters in North Ridgeville who cast their ballots.

The income tax increase, Issue 8, was pushed heavily by city leadership, even picking up key endorsements prior to the election. But voters, who have consistently voiced their disapproval for increasing taxes on everything, overwhelmingly and decisively shot down the idea. And now, it’s back to the drawing board for city officials.
