EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Police arrest a man after they found him crashed into a tree just off Green River Road.

Officers were called to the intersection of Carriage Drive and Green River Road around 9:15 p.m. Friday.

They say they found 22-year-old Adam Longway in his car that had crashed into a tree.

While talking with police, EPD says Longway tried to disposed of a plastic baggie with white powder inside it, and resisted when police tried to stop him.

Longway was taken into custody.

Witnesses in the Towne Centre parking lot say they saw Longway hit a parked car in front of Szechwan Chinese Restaurant and a handicapped parking sign in front of Jacob’s Deli.

They also say that Longway almost hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk by Juicy Seafood.
