The Port Orange Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car overnight on South Nova Road.
Police said the crash happened at about midnight on the 3500 block of South Nova Road and that the pedestrian suffered severe injuries before ultimately being pronounced dead at the scene by Port Orange Fire Rescue.
The driver of the car and two passengers were not injured in the crash.
Port Orange police have not released the identity of the pedestrian or the driver involved in the crash.
