An 80-year-old man was killed when a stolen car crashed into his vehicle late Friday, Nov. 7 on Long Island, police said.

Peter Morris, 80, had been entering his 2012 Hyundai when it was struck by 24-year-old Randy Colon, of Hicksville, behind the wheel of a stolen 2013 Nissan at 95 Woodward Parkway in South Farmingdale, Nassau County, police said.

Colon fled on foot but was found nearby and arrested without incident, police said. He was charged with manslaughter (second degree), criminal possession of stolen property (fourth degree), grand larceny (fourth degree), and leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death, police said.

Morris was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Colon was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday, Nov. 8, at First District Court in Hempstead, authorities said.
