A man's body was recovered at Salford Quays this morning (Saturday).

Police were alerted to a body in the water shortly before 9.20am.

A witness reported seeing a large emergency services presence near the watersports centre.

Specialist crime scene investigation (CSI) teams were spotted along with a private ambulance.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have now confirmed a man's body was pulled from the water.

Formal identification has not yet taken place and no further details about him, including his name and age, have yet been released.
