ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Travelers will need to pack their patience as dozens of flights have already been canceled Friday morning.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s order to scale back flights nationwide amid the ongoing the government shutdown went into effect today. Flights at 40 major airports, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, are being cut.

As of 11:47 p.m . Friday , there have been 87 flights at Hartsfield-Jackson that were canceled and 476 flights delayed. Across the country, there were 1,511 cancellations , according to flight tracking data website FlightAware . There have already been 76 flights canceled tomorrow at Hartsfield-Jackson.
