Racing Louisville FC’s historic season came to a close in the NWSL quarterfinals with a loss to No. 2 Washington Spirit decided by penalty kicks. The Spirit advanced, 3–1, in the shootout.
Scoreless through the first half. Later in the 72nd minute, Washington got on the board with a goal off the header from Gift Monday, assisted by Rosemonde Kouassi with a cross.
Racing didn't let up in it's first playoff appearance since joining the league in 2021, Kayla Fischer scored off a ball in from Courtney Petersen for her fourth goal of the season and level the match at 1-1 in stoppage time.
Racing FC finished Year 2 under head coach Bev Yanez with a record of 10-10-7. Racing's 10 wins and 37 points are the most in franchise history.
