South Texas under red flag warning Sunday as cold front approaches

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - All of South Texas will be under a red flag warning on Sunday, November 9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as a cold front moves in.

Wind gusts of 20-30 mph are expected, with some up to 40 mph. Relative humidity will drop as low as 15-20%.

Under a red flag warning, there are critical fire weather concerns. The U.S. National Weather Service says to avoid open flames or sparks, keep cars off of dry grass, and properly dispose of cigarettes to prevent fires.
