Gov. Mike Kehoe ordered the Missouri State Capitol Dome to shine red, white, and blue next week to honor the U.S. Marine Corps for their 250th birthday.

Starting Monday morning on Nov. 10 until Tuesday afternoon Nov. 11, the lights are set to pay tribute to generations of U.S. Marines.

Veterans organizations and other community partners will host events across the state to commemorate the Marine's 250th birthday.

"Lighting the Capitol dome red, white, and blue is a promise that Missouri will never forget the valor of this elite force whose courage and character have shaped the very course of our nation's history." Gov. Kehoe said in a press release.
