Football fans were furious after a college football referee inadvertently lent a helping hand to Penn State running back Nick Singleton in Sunday’s home game against the Indiana Hoosiers.

In what will go down as one of the best games of the 2025 NCAA football season, the No. 2-ranked Hoosiers narrowly escaped with a heartpounding 27-24 win over the disappointing Nittany Lions.

Fernando Mendoza, a candidate to go first overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, threw the game-winning touchdown to Omar Cooper Jr. with 36 seconds left. Cooper made a ridiculous toe-tap touchdown that nearly caused play-by-play man Gus Johnson to lose his voice:
