Saturday’s City Market Turkey Drive gave folks an opportunity to help those struggling financially to still have Thanksgiving

As the holiday season comes closer, and food stamp cuts continue, Feeding Champlain Valley says they expect to receive around 40,000 visits to their food shelves.

The organization paired up with City Market to offer shoppers a way to help with the load.

Saturday, folks could pay 25 dollars for a City Market turkey, and that bird will go towards people in need.

“Being out here on the ground trying to get awareness and also get people’s attention about that people are out there in the community that are hungry, I think that’s something that’s worth being out here for,” Anthony Huynh, the Marketing Manager with
