GRAND FORKS — UND trailed Kansas State 38-35 but had the ball with 37 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter on Aug. 30.
The Fighting Hawks trailed Montana 24-23 but had the ball with 1 minute, 35 seconds left on Sept. 13.
They trailed South Dakota 26-21 but had the ball with 2 minutes, 33 seconds left on Nov. 1.
Saturday afternoon at the Alerus Center, the Hawks found themselves in a familiar position.
They were behind 15-10 against No. 1 North Dakota State and had the ball with 1 minute, 22 seconds remaining in the game.
UND had to drive 71 yards to the end zone to complete a stunning upset over its rivals.
