NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Auburn football finally had an offense that could duke it out with SEC competition in its first game after Hugh Freeze 's firing. It generated 563 yards of total offense, which it never did in an SEC game under Freeze. The same went for its 353 passing yards, and its 6.9 yards per play were only bested in one Freeze-coached contest.
Kudos to interim head coach DJ Durkin and newly anointed play-caller Derrick Nix for that. The result, however, did not change.
