There may have been a brief opening for Weber State true freshman quarterback Kingston Tisdell to find No. 1 wide receiver Jayleen Record over the middle.

But Tisdell didn’t account for the strong safety.

When Tisdell fired on a third-and-10 at Montana State’s 46-yard line, the pass traveled about 20 yards before being snatched out of the air by MSU safety Caden Dowler. Thinking back to his high school days at Billings West — where Dowler played both defensive back and WR — Dowler saw green in front of him.

He turned left before cutting back right across the field, similar to his twin brother Taco’s 24-yard catch and run against Oregon in the season opener.

Caden felt like he could make some moves, he said after the game, but mostly ran past Weber players like running back Bird Butler
