There were six goals in the final 35:07 of regulation in Saturday night’s PIAA Class 3A quarterfinal between West Allegheny and Allderdice at Peters Township Middle School, and the two 15-minute overtime periods couldn’t offer a resolution. Penalty kicks would have to suffice after a grueling 110-minute slugfest.

Allderdice senior defender Niv Friedman claims he didn’t feel pressure when he stepped to the spot as the Dragons’ fifth penalty taker.

“Coach told me not to be nervous,” he said. “Pressure is a privilege.”
