A bizarre incident from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh left the internet amused and the local police embarrassed after a scooter owner received a challan of Rs 20,74,000.
The incident took place on November 4 at the Gandhi Colony police post under the Nai Mandi police station area. The challan, issued to scooter rider Anmol Singhal, stated that he was not wearing a helmet, did not have a driving licence, and could not produce the vehicle’s documents.
Following the issuance of the challan, the scooter was seized by the police.
When the owner shared the image of the challan on social media, the post soon went viral. The unusually high fine amount led users to question how such a massive figure could be imposed for minor traffic violations.
