UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The toe tap.
Tappy Valley.
The 10-0 tip toe.
Whatever the name, Indiana football receiver Omar Cooper Jr.’s go-ahead touchdown catch in a 27-24 win over Penn State on Saturday is a moment that will be talked about by Hoosier fans for generations to come.
Cooper made a leaping grab at the back of the end zone with 36 seconds to go that helped the No. 2 Hoosiers (10-0, 7-0 Big Ten) match their best start in program history. The redshirt junior managed to get his foot down in bounds despite PSU safety Zakee Wheatley pushing him out of the end zone.
“I knew where I was in the field,” Cooper said after the game. “When I went up for the ball I was just trying to get my feet as far inside as I could and make sure I came down with it."
