Veteran’s Day is right around the corner, and one of Chattanooga's very own is celebrating his 100th birthday. He's lived through decades of history and carries the stories that shaped our nation.
"We don't get to see a lot of veterans who served at the time still be able to tell that story,” Tanika Gladden said.
Mitchel Williams is a retired private first class of the United States Army, who served in World War II. He's witnessed some of the county's greatest moments, and endured some of its hardest.
"I'm telling you, it was rough, but I made it. That's one thing for sure," Williams said.
Even at 100 years old, he continues to inspire those around him.
