Penn State, once ranked No. 2 in the nation, breezed through its first three games, defeating non-conference foes Nevada (46-11), Florida International (34-0) and FCS Villanova (52-6).

The Nittany Lions, then coached by James Franklin, dropped their White Out game at Beaver Stadium to Oregon in double overtime, 30-24. That game was played on Sept. 27.

Today is Nov. 9.

The Lions have lost six consecutive contests, all to Big Ten teams. PSU fired Franklin a day after it lost 22-21 to Northwestern at home on Oct. 11.

Penn State, led by interim head coach Terry Smith, tested No. 2 Indiana throughout Saturday afternoon’s contest in State College.
