HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- The community is coming together once more to raise money for an Evansville police officer injured in the line of duty.
According to Lynnville Fire Department, a benefit dinner for Officer Sam Taylor will be held at the Lynnville Fire Station from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 22. The dinner will include a live auction that starts at 5 p.m.
All proceeds will go directly to Officer Taylor and his recovery fund. Taylor was shot in the line of duty back in September and recently gave an update about his recovery, saying he suffered a T3 spinal cord injury, meaning he does not have feeling or mobility from the chest down.
Taylor will be receiving care in Atlanta until January.
