TAMPA, Fla. — Four people were killed and 13 others injured after a speeding driver slammed into a crowd in Ybor City, according to police.

The car eventually stopped after crashing through pedestrians outside as well as the patio of the popular LGBTQ+ bar, Bradley's on Seventh .

Tampa police said it was Silas Sampson, 22, who was driving recklessly and speeding on I-275 before exiting the interstate while trying to evade Florida Highway Patrol officials.

State troopers said he is being held on eight felony charges, including four counts of vehicular homicide as well as aggravated fleeing to elude.

A vigil was held Saturday night in Ybor City outside the typically crowded bar on a weekend that Simpson's car crashed into.
