The National Weather Service issued an updated winter weather advisory at 1:18 p.m. on Sunday valid from Monday 1 p.m. until Tuesday 1 p.m. for Westmoreland Ridges and Fayette Ridges.
The weather service says to expect, "Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph."
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes," explains the weather service. "Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury. Please report snow or ice accumulations by calling 412-262-1988, posting to the NWS Pit
