A 31-year-old man was shot to death on Birmingham’s west side, the city’s third killing on Saturday.

Police on Sunday identified the victim as Jeremiah Stone of Birmingham.

West Precinct officers were dispatched at 11:20 p.m. Saturday to a report of a person shot in the 1800 block of Henry Crumpton Drive.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald said they arrived to find Stone wounded in the road. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene.

Police learned a second male gunshot victim was in the 2500 Block of John Bryant Road.

He was taken to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fitzgerald said preliminary investigation suggests the two victims were traveling in a vehicle in the 1800 Block of Henry Crumpton Drive when a suspect or suspects fired shots at them.
