RED HOOK, N.Y. — A Red Hook man was arrested Friday after allegedly driving a truck with a commercial wood chipper in tow with a blood-alcohol content over four times the legal limit, Red Hook police said Sunday.
Police said around 2:10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, a Red Hook police officer responded to a property damage accident on Budds Corners Road in the town.
An investigation determined that a 2002 Ford truck with a commercial wood chipper in tow was heading northbound on Budds Corners Road when the truck went off the roadway, causing the chipper to detach and roll over.
Police said the driver, Dylan R. Silveria, 33, of Red Hook, was “interviewed on scene and found to be intoxicated by alcohol.”
Police said Silveria’s blood-alcohol content was 0.33%, over four times the legal limit.
