The Diocese of Toledo on Friday finalized the sale of its Pastoral Center building at 1933 Spielbusch Ave. to the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department.

The Diocese will temporarily to relocate its offices to a yet to be determined location while construction of a new Pastoral Center is completed on land already owned by the Diocese across from Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral on Collingwood Boulevard.

Diocesan and Catholic Charities services will not be interrupted during the transition, officials said.

In 2020, a Pastoral Center Project Committee worked with consultants to conduct a needs assessment and feasibility study of the Spielbusch facility. The committee concluded the space was too large and expensive for present and future needs. This was mainly due to a 47 p
