Former Montreal police chief Philippe Pichet, who was ousted from his position following a damning 2017 investigation into the city’s police force , was a “victim of psychological harassment” in the years following his removal, Quebec’s Tribunal administratif du travail has found.
The ruling pertained to Pichet’s treatment in the years following his 2018 reinstatement to the force. In exchange for his voluntary resignation from his position as police chief, the City of Montreal agreed to reintegrate Pichet into the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal as a chief inspector.
