SAN ANTONIO — Two people escaped with minor injuries after a house fire broke out Sunday evening on the the west side, SAFD says.
Firefighters were called around 5:30 p.m. to the 5100 block of La Pocita for reports of a structure fire. When crews arrived, they found heavy flames coming from one home and spreading toward a neighboring house, SAFD spokesperson Joe Arrington said.
Firefighters quickly called for a second alarm to bring in additional crews but were able to contain the fire before it spread further. The neighboring home sustained only minor exterior damage.
Two people inside the home managed to get out before firefighters arrived. Both suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene but did not need to be taken to the hospital.
