SAN ANTONIO — Under a soft morning sky, 150 runners set out through Southside Lions Park, their footsteps echoing a shared mission — to help San Antonio’s seniors age with dignity.
King’s Compassion , a local nonprofit that serves older adults struggling to afford groceries and essentials, hosted its first-ever 5K walk this weekend. The event brought together community members determined to make a lasting impact.
“What we do with delivery to our seniors that can’t get out is very unique to San Antonio,” said Rose Reyes, CEO of King’s Compassion. “There’s so much need, and we’re currently the only ones who do it like that.”
Reyes says the organization hopes to raise $15,000 — a goal she’s confident they’ll reach, especially as demand for their services grows amid the ongoing government
