SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) announced on Sunday it will distribute partial Supplemental nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for November, following new federal directives.
Households that have already passed their scheduled distribution dates will receive their allotment by Tuesday, Nov. 11, according to DHS. All other benefits will be issued on the normal schedule for the rest of the month.
The department said SNAP recipients will receive up to 65% of their usual benefit amount, depending on household income and other deductions.
The DHS is also reminding recipients to take precautionary measures to protect their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards from unauthorized use. The agency recommends using the “lock my card everywhere” fun
