The William & Mary women’s basketball team opened its home schedule in impressive fashion, defeating Barton College 81–62 at Kaplan Arena. The victory marked the 50th career win for head coach Erin Dickerson Davis in her fourth season leading the Tribe.

William & Mary controlled the game from the start, taking advantage of Barton’s 24 turnovers and turning them into 29 points. The Tribe also owned the paint, outscoring the Bulldogs 38–16 inside.

Monet Dance set the tone early with a three-pointer that put W&M ahead for good. Contributions from Jana Sallman and Natalie Fox inside helped extend the early lead, while a jumper from Cassidy Geddes pushed the margin further. A late three-pointer from Kyah Smith kept the Tribe in front 18–12 after one quarter.
