FOSTORIA, Ohio — Empty parking lots and vacant land in Fostoria is being transformed into affordable homes for working families, thanks to the Welcome Home Ohio program — a statewide initiative aimed at expanding homeownership opportunities.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to achieve the dream of homeownership,” said Sarah Stephens Krupp, project administrator with the Fostoria Economic Development Corporation.

Through the program, the Seneca County Land Bank secured $2.75 million in grant funding, which will be shared between Fostoria and Tiffin. In Fostoria, five new three-bedroom, two-bath homes are nearly complete, while four more are under construction in Tiffin.
