Even after being blacklisted, Bhole Baba Dairy continued to supply fake ghee
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Andhra Pradesh Food Safety Department have unearthed a large-scale adulteration racket involving ghee supplied to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
According to investigators, a Uttarakhand-based dairy firm supplied over 68 lakh kilograms of adulterated ghee, valued at approximately ₹250 crore, to the TTD between 2019 and 2024.
Preliminary findings suggest that the company, Bhole Baba Dairy, owned by Pammil Jain and Vipin Jain, had set up a fake ghee production unit and used counterfeit documents to show milk and butter procurement that never actually took place.
Officials allege that the firm produced spurious ghee using chemicals such as monoglyceride
