BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Breezy and chilly conditions remain in place today behind the weekend cold front. Temperatures fall sharply overnight, with freezing temperatures expected for many areas tomorrow morning.
TODAY’S FORECAST
After a cold start this morning, the breeze continues throughout the day with sustained winds out of the north from 15 to 20 mph and gusting 20 mph or higher. Temperatures warm to a cool afternoon to the low 50s under clear and sunny skies.

Critical fire weather conditions are in place across South Louisiana today due to gusty winds and very low humidity. The combination of strong winds, dry air, and ongoing drought will allow any fires that develop to spread quickly.
