STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island high school students worked to clean up a local beach in the borough last month.
New Dorp High school’s Paws On Planet Club held its latest beach cleanup with 36 volunteers on Oct. 23, collecting more than 50 pounds of litter from Midland Beach.
It was organized by co-founders of the club, Anna Vasylyev and Katherine Zeldich, in collaboration with the school’s Impactful Youth Club. The animal and environmental club focuses on protecting wildlife and inspiring others to care for Earth.
