GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A person is seriously hurt after being hit by a car in the West Valley on Monday morning.

At about 6 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the area of 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road on reports of a person who was hit by a car, according to the Glendale Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found a person with life-threatening injuries who was then transported to a nearby hospital. The driver suspected of hitting the person left the scene before police arrived.

The roadway is restricted, and drivers are recommended to avoid the area as the investigation remains ongoing.
