SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) said a infant was surrendered in the Upstate.
Officials said a baby was born at Spartanburg Regional Health System on Nov. 4 and weighed four pounds, one ounce and was 16.1 inches long.
The baby was surrendered under Daniel’s Law, the state’s Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, two days later, officials said.
DSS said a Permanency Planning Hearing and Termination of Parental Rights Hearing will be held on Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Spartanburg County Family Court. Anyone who believes they have parental rights to this child is required to attend the hearing.
This is the sixth Daniel’s Law baby surrendered in South Carolina in 2025.
