CLEVELAND, Ohio — Heading into this season, Rowan Kennedy figured he would have an important role in Rocky River’s offense at some point.
“I just didn’t know how soon,” Kennedy said.
It turned out to be very soon.
The sophomore wide receiver has been a large part of the Pirates’ run to the Division III, Region 10 semifinals. In Friday’s quarterfinal win over Revere , he caught five passes for a game-high 153 yards and two touchdowns, setting up a regional semifinal showdown against No. 1 Buckeye.
“Heading into the season I was kind of unsure of what to expect,” Kennedy said. “Right when the season started the coaches said they trusted in me and believed in me and that gained my confidence a lot.”
