Slidell police have released video of Friday's bank robbery that shows a man entering the Fidelity Bank on Gause Boulevard, wearing a wide-brim hat, a COVID-type mask and walking with a cane and an exaggerated limp.
Surveillance video shows the bucket hat-wearing man walk up to a teller, grab a fistful of money from the counter and quickly leave the bank — minus any limp.
The bank robbery was reported just before 4 p.m. Friday. Police responded with K-9 units to track the suspect, who was seen running into a neighborhood on nearby Choctaw Drive, police said.
Though he was on foot, police believe the suspect may have escaped the area in a vehicle.
