MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Wisconsin linebacker dynamic duo of Cooper Catalano and Mason Posa each tabbed themselves their first career Big Ten weekly honors on Monday afternoon.
The freshmen each played a major role in the Badgers first ranked win in the Luke Fickell era on Saturday, knocking off No. 24 Washington, 13-10.
Catalano led the team with 19 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and a sack, which is a first for a Big Ten player since 2018. The performance led to his accolade as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
Alongside Catalano, Posa was named the Co-Freshman of the Week, after tacking on 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced and recovered fumble.
