Spanish ace Carlos Alcaraz is pleased that he is facing Lorenzo Musetti over Novak Djokovic at the ATP Finals. Alcaraz clinched a win in his first match of the tournament by beating Alex de Minaur by 7-6(5) 6-2. He is now poised to take on Musetti and Taylor Fritz in the forthcoming fixtures.

"I'm just really, really happy with the level that I played today. First match is never easy," Alcaraz said.

"After the match, I realised that this one was my first win in the round-robin on the first day."

Musetti had come in as a late replacement for Djokovic after the 38-year-old pulled out of the tournament on Sunday.

"Obviously someone like Novak being in the group is always tough," Alcaraz said.
