United Steelworkers on strike against Libbey have endorsed an offer that is now pending ratification by the union’s membership, the company said.

The proposed agreements, according to a statement from Libbey, would include 24 percent wage increases over the contract period, a one-time $3,000 payment, “meaningful” overtime and premium pay, and “minimal” increases to health care costs.

“Libbey is encouraged by the the progress made,” an email from the company says.

Donnie Blatt, District 1 director for the steelworkers, declined comment and would not confirm whether the proposed offer had been endorsed by the United Steelworkers union.
