Rediscovered letters to family helped Lewisburg woman learn more about her father's World War II service

LEWISBURG — For most of her life, Ronda Showalter, of Lewisburg, knew little of her father's exploits in the Army during World War II as an electrical mechanic, left gunner.

She knew he had served in the Army. "But he never talked much about it," Showalter said. "No. He put it behind."
