FOXBOROUGH - TreVeyon Henderson is being hailed for having the wherewithal to peek over at the sideline to see if he should go ahead and score a touchdown, or go down before hitting the end zone if that was the better choice to secure a win.
A day after the Patriots 28-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sparked by two long touchdown runs by Henderson, the running back said his phone blew up with texts from friends and others wondering the rationale behind his temporarily veering course, and if he did in fact get the code red to score.
Asked the final verdict, what the coaches actually motioned, and Henderson described it as being mixed.
“I seen some people saying go down, some people saying score, so it was mixed,” Henderson said.
