The building of new Nissan Stadium took a significant step last Friday when a crew, led by construction manager Tennessee Builders Alliance, installed the final piece of the “ring beam” that shapes the structure's circular roof.
The ring beam installation process began in late June and took 20 weeks to complete, with 60 workers involved in the installation process.
With the circle now complete, builders can move to the next phase of the Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) roof system by allowing the connection of the suspended cables to begin.
The EFTE roof system enables architects to create lightweight, movable and transparent membrane structures, per the AGC Chemicals Americas website. It’s lighter than glass, which means it requires less structural cost, and in turn reduces building
