NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed a case of measles in an adult from Region 9, which includes St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Livingston, Washington, and St. Helena parishes.
Officials say the person was exposed during international travel and is now isolating at home.
LDH says a public exposure happened at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Sunday, Nov. 9. Anyone who was in Concourse B or beyond the security checkpoint between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. may have been exposed to the virus, which can linger in the air for up to two hours.
"Anyone who was on the same flight as a person with a confirmed case of measles will be notified directly by the public health department of their place of residence," officials said.
