Officials say Route 85 is closed in both directions after a dump truck took down poles and wires in Montville on Monday night.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation said the road is closed at Lake Pond Road, and police say the closure is expected to last through rush hour traffic on Tuesday.

Montville police said Route 85 is closed between Turner Road and Sachatello Industrial Drive.

Drivers are being asked to take alternate routes and prepare for road closures.

Turner Road traffic will have to go south on Route 85 into Waterford to use Lake Pond Road, according to authorities.

Drivers traveling south from Salem towards the accident will need to use Sachatello Industrial Drive.
